AlmaStart is the discovery tool of the University of Bologna. With a single search, users can find documents available in the Bologna Library System libraries or accessible online (books, articles, journals, databases, electronic and digital collections).
How does AlmaStart work?
Starting from the Bologna Library System Catalogue and selecting the option Expand your search with AlmaStart, it is possible to broaden the search previously set up in SebinaYou by using the University of Bologna discovery tool.
To immediately display a list of freely accessible resources, use the Open Access filter. To look at restricted access resources, University of Bologna users must be logged in with their institutional credentials. External users may contact their reference library to check whether a document supply request can be activated.
The Expand My Results button extends the search in international library catalogues and databases, Open Access archives, digital libraries, government sources and other information sources.
